Confirmation

Because of Covid-19 we have had to make some adjustments to our confirmation class.  But we are excited to be offering a summer class with confirmation in September. Confirmation is open to all rising sixth graders and older who would like to participate in this wonderful journey of self discovery and reflection.

Although confirmation is more than just a series of classes, confirmation class sessions are nonetheless a critical part of the confirmation experience. We are offering ten classes beginning June 29th from 3:30 – 6 pm.  A light dinner will be provided.  These sessions are designed to tell confirmands the story of our faith, teach them about core Christian beliefs and practices, explain to them distinct United Methodist beliefs and practices plus help them develop a faith vocabulary. It is our hope and intention that by the end of the eight weeks our confirmands will develop a stronger relationship to Jesus Christ, and desire to confirm their discipleship as a full participant in the life of the church at Haygood.

Lastly, participation does not require that they be confirmed but gives them an opportunity to explore if they are drawn to make a commitment to our Lord and His Church.
